Friends and family have probably heard me ranting about some “Colouring Book” project.
Here is a brief run-down:
What:
I am creating a factory farmed animal themed colouring book 🙂
Why:
- colouring is probably a more edifying activity than scrolling an infinite feed of social media (which seems to be what people do when they are bored at home)
- many factory farmed animals are sentient beings with rich internal worlds and deserve more than to be treated as objects for human consumption. I hope these fun scenes brings more compassion to these creatures we humans share the world with
- build a fun and colourful community to provide a common ground between humans, regardless of their dietary choices to see each others as people and not caricatures and labels (e.g. “omni”, “carni” or “vegan”)
When: I hope to release it by the end of the year, in time for new years resolutions; want to spend less time on social media? Colouring could be a satisfying place to invest the time.
How: Not sure yet. It seems there is a great demand for physical colouring books (as opposed to digital) so am thinking of KDP.
